Day 2: Wednesday
Today was the first day of building. We decided to cut as much wood as we could and put together the walls.
Brianna and I started out by cutting sections of 3 x 7ft pieces of cloth to go on the roof of the Vezibo structure. This was the easiest part of the day and got done quickly, even though it was a bit awkward to measure out the cloth because we did not have enough space.
Once we finished the cloth cutting, we helped the others to measure out the pieces of wood. We had a lot of trouble at first and it was very confusing as we tried to figure out what we already had measured and cut versus what still needed to be done. It was also a bit tiring to have to continue carrying the piles of wood from inside the classroom out to the back.
During the first block, we managed to build one of the side walls and by the end of the second block, finished building the back wall. We still have two more walls to go, along with the benches and planter boxes. I am supposed to help put together the planter boxes once I am done measuring and cutting the pieces of wood we still need. So far, we are a bit behind schedule, but I feel that we will quickly be able to catch up now that we have a better idea of what we're doing.
