Day 1: Monday

Today we began Project Lunch Space in Axis STEM, a project to create better lunch spaces that fix the many issues with the outdoor space on our school campus. We were assigned teams and my role is user research. By the end of the project, I have to design a poster and assess user reactions of our project, along with helping to construct it.

My team is Project Vezibo and we are building a gazebo with benches both in and outside of the covering, giving users a choice on whether to be in the sun or shade. We are also adding planter boxes and cross-hatched sections for vines to hang from.

Before we could start building we had to make sketches and individual scaled drawings to use as blueprints to build. I got one of the smaller inside benches, and I feel confident in being able to build it. My teammates are easy-going and fun to work with. This project may get much harder later on since we were given an uneven space to work on, but currently, it does not seem completely impossible.
